Stuart C Silverstein, MD our Medical Director has been with Firefly since we opened in July 2007. Dr. Silverstein received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in 1985 and completed his Pediatric Residency Training at the California Pacific Medical Center an affiliate of the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Silverstein is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics. He has worked in the field of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for over 20 years and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at the New York Medical College in Valhalla New York.
Dr. Silverstein is on staff at Stamford Hospital and a member of the Fairfield County Medical Society.
In addition to his career as a physician, Dr. Silverstein worked as an award winning Standup Comedian and was featured nationally on World News Tonight. He is a medical writer and has authored dozens of books including “Laughing Your Way to Passing the Pediatric Boards” which is used by thousands of Pediatric Residents preparing to take their certification exam. He is also the co-author of “What About Me? Growing up with a Developmentally Disabled Sibling”
Dr. Silverstein is an avid hockey fan who still laces up the skates and is a Level 3 USA Hockey Coach.

Stu currently resides in Stamford CT with his wife and children.
